In Defence of the Single Image

This exhibition is a quiet challenge to the convention of producing a series of photographs and a reminder of the potential of the single image.

Putting one picture next to another creates a third ‘something’. Each image contributes to a larger narrative or thematic arc.

The single image stands alone, its meaning is contained within its own composition, formal qualities and content.
