Season of Photography 2026: Showcasing Photography in Scotland
Season of Photography 2026 is a celebration of photography running 1 September – 20 December 2026, with the aim to highlight and promote photography exhibitions and events taking place across Scotland. The Season will embrace exhibitions and events at galleries, national and regional museums, photography festivals, Higher Education institutions and artists-run initiatives. It will feature a range of contemporary and historical work.
The full programme of events is hosted using this year-round resource Photo Networks Scotland. You can take part by opting in to participate and by submitting your event within the specified timeframe. Designed to illustrate the diversity of activity taking place across the country, Season of Photography embraces the breadth of photographic practice. Its goal is to broaden audience reach by encouraging new connections, and widening the networks of photography in Scotland.
How do I submit my event?
Anybody can submit an event or exhibition for consideration via the Photo Networks Scotland website, clearly opting in via the relevant check box at the end of the submission form. We have prepared a link to download relevant Season of Photography assets and template copy. By opting in to participate, you agree to use one of the logo’s and strapline where appropriate when promoting your event in order to increase awareness and visibility of Photo Season Scotland.
To submit an exhibition or event via the Photo Networks Scotland platform, you are required to provide: event title, description, date, time, venue info, a contact name and email; and one image at 1000 to 1920 pixels wide.
Who is Photography Scotland?
Photography Scotland is an informal group made up of individuals representing galleries, museums, artist-led initiatives, educational establishments, and others active in the photography sector across Scotland. It aims to encourage communication, networking and collaboration in order to amplify the voice for photography in Scotland for the benefit of audiences and practitioners.
Season of Photography is not a separately funded initiative, but takes place through the support of the partners involved. Publicity and promotion of individual events remains the responsibility of the organiser of these. The Season does not offer funding for projects, nor can it assist in locating venues, or in marketing individual projects beyond what is undertaken through Photography Networks in Scotland.

If your event is listed here but you do not want to be included within the Season please send us an email at: info@photo-networks.scot. However please note that in order to remove your event from the Season listings we will have to remove it from the site completely.
