The Edinburgh Photobook Club is back for a second season! Wednesday September 19 from 6pm to 7:50pm in the Art & Design Library at Edinburgh Central Library.
We’re very excited to have Edinburgh-based photographer Simon Crofts talk about his photobook Expectations (Kehrer Verlag, 2015), an intimate and personal project set out as a series of four visual poems on the themes of fortune, memory, fear and utopia. It combines photography with Russian literature, alongside Simon’s reflections on living and working there.
Participants are invited to bring a photobook relating to the theme of “Territory“. During the remaining hour, we’ll discuss how this theme is explored through the selection of photobooks. Please feel free to choose from the Art & Design Library’s photobook collection!
Hosts: Alan Eglinton (independent photographer) and Alex Hall (studio assistant at ECA)
Maximum number of participants: 15 (Subject to availability). Free event.
For inscriptions, RSVP: alaneglinton@gmail.com
