The local German artist Holger Mohaupt is presenting his latest work ‘Blind Land’ at the Telephone Cabins in North Berwick. Holger’s work is informed by place, heritage and the rhythms and routines of the everyday. The title of the exhibition ‘Blind Land’ is a term used in Sanskrit, which describes how a community is defined not by its borders, but by its traditions.
In the time leading up to Christmas, Holger’s new work focusses on the work of local farmers, it’s an ode to their contribution to sustainability and community.
For ‘Blind Land’, Holger has created a triptych of large-scale monochrome portrays of locally reared turkeys. The photographs are installed in the Telephone Cabins, a new public gallery space in North Berwick and are accompanied by a soundtrack.
