BREAD Arts Laboratory is an art centred initiative for town regeneration in Ayr, delivering high quality contemporary art to Ayrshire, aiming to become a thriving social and cultural hive for everyone. Their driving ethos is that art is a transformative power for both society and the individual. Launching in March 2019, they’ve hosted an exciting programme of exhibitions and events so far –gaining a great deal of positive local engagement.

Wyrd Operations is a group exhibition featuring works from Sekai Machache, Rachel McDermott, Charis & I and Blake Lazarus Venus. A group who mainly meets online.

The exhibition begins with a 24hr ritual live stream, where you can watch the Wyrd Operators live in the Laboratory.  The online stream will lead you to the opening night and into real life.

A photographic series will be created onsite during the live-stream, documenting the ritual, to then be shown in the continuing exhibition.

On Friday 7th June, the Laboratory will be celebrating their first three months with some BIG exhibitions and a BIG party, with performances from Susanna Stark, Falaraki and members of WomenSaid. On the opening night you can also see exhibitions ‘Name + Space = Place’ by Eoghann McColl and ‘Coldstone’ by Jamie Watt and Lewis Bissett, which will be opening in different parts of the large, 3 storey building.

Ritual Live-stream: Thursday 30th May, 6pm – Friday 31st May, 6pm. Via BREAD Arts Lab.
Exhibition Opening: Friday 7th June, 6pm – late.
