Join artist Jenny Matthews for a special guided tour of her exhibition Sewing Conflict: Photography, War and Embroidery which is on show at Street Level Photoworks until 12th May. The artist will share insights into the themes and processes of making the works on show, followed by an audience Q+A.

Since 2020 Jenny Matthews has been making a series of photo quilts with edits of photos from her archive of images taken worldwide, most of which were made in conflict zones. The work draws upon her independent projects, work with Format women's photography agency, and importantly charities and NGOs. Each photograph has been printed onto cotton linen, stitched together, and embellished with embroidery on material most often sourced from the countries where the original photographs were made.
