This talk by Blake Milteer, Curator, Photography (The MacKinnon Collection) at the National Galleries of Scotland, will provide a view into the MacKinnon Collection of Scottish photography - jointly acquired by the National Galleries of Scotland and the National Library of Scotland. The collection, originally amassed by Aberdeenshire collector Murray MacKinnon, represents Scottish life and achievements from the 1840s through to the 1950s, revealing a century of dramatic transformation, innovation, and upheaval in Scotland.

Blake will describe the current initiative to catalogue, digitise and create engagement activities around the MacKinnon Collection, and explores ways in which its content compliments existing strengths in the NGS and NLS photographic collections.

The presentation will be introduced by Gilly Read FRPS, chair of the RPS Historical Group.

Blake's presentation will be followed by a public Q+A. Questions will be taken by Zoom chat  The event is free, but we ask that you register in advance. A Zoom link within a PDF document will be with your confirmation of booking email sent immediately after you complete your booking.
