We're delighted to host a talk from Peter Holliday on Saturday 16 March! ⛰️ Peter Holliday is a Scottish photographer living and working in Helsinki, and this talk will consider ideas of place, visual art & our perception of nature.

His work seeks to unveil the existential character of the environment towards which perception is exposed. By challenging traditional idealisations of nature as a presence foreign to human experience, Peter’s photographs reveal an embodied perspective of the earth against the far-distant horizons of deep time. Implicit within his work is a critical self-reflective awareness of the ecological anxieties, geological uncertainties and political suspicions that haunt the gaze of the post-industrial environment.

Peter is also the creator of The Land Behind, an arts and culture podcast that serves as a forum for photographers, artists, philosophers, anthropologists and other individuals involved in artistic practice, cultural research and environmental discourse.
