Court Darkroom presents an in conversation with photographer Jesse Glazzard.

Jesse Glazzard’s raw, authentic approach to photography is best defined as an intimate blend of portraiture and documentary. His work is driven by a continual dialogue with the archive, often utilising zines as a form of visual communication.

His portraits address narratives that are often overlooked, driven by an interest in preservation and historical continuity. Glazzard captures moments with measured sensitivity to both body and mind, approaching them as sites of continual transformation and movement. His practice engages with intimacy, vulnerability, and the subtle tensions present within human relationships, documenting spaces, friends, lovers, himself, and collaborators through a combination of staged portraiture and spontaneous image-making.

At its core, his work examines the human condition, with particular attention to marginalised communities and lived experience. He is the recipient of the 2025 Loewe and Studio Voltaire Award. Jesse Glazzard studied photography at the University of Salford and Central Saint Martins.
