In Focus: Brexit Tears
6.30pm Thursday 4th February
Livestreamed through Street Level Photoworks Facebook
For the eighth in our series of In Focus talks we will be joined by artist Calum Colvin and poet Robert Crawford as they discuss their collaboration Brexit Tears, which tells the story of recent politics through ‘instagraphs’ in which texts and images frolic and jostle together. Made during recent political convulsions, this project seeks to speak of and from this time, but also to sum it up in a way that looks forward to possibilities beyond.
In this event, Robert and Calum will discuss the project and the publication produced by Kettilonia in early 2020.
Published to coincide with the exhibition Brexit Tears at the Scottish Storytelling Centre in Edinburgh held from 31st January to 1st March 2020, the book also appeared in the week the UK ended its membership of the European Union.
Calum Colvin is an artist and is Professor of Fine Art Photography and Associate Dean of Research at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, University of Dundee.
Robert Crawford is a Scottish poet, scholar and critic. He is Emeritus Professor of English at University of St Andrews.
