Island Darkroom welcomes you to it's first invited exhibition, where I'm delighted to showcase the work of talented emerging artist, Danielle Macleod.
Danielle is a photographer based here on the Isle of Lewis. Working with medium-format film, her photography draws on traditional Hebridean culture, local stories and her upbringing in this environment.
Her series 'Guardians' emerged when Danielle moved back home to the island after graduating last year mid-pandemic from Glasgow School of Art.
Although at the beginning of her career, her work has already been recognised by national magazines and organisations. With the support of the An Lanntair Artist Support Programme, this is her first major body of work outwith university.
The opening event will be showcasing limited edition prints from 'Guardians' plus Danielle will be there in person to discuss and show you her work!
OPENING EVENT: 10th June 2021 1pm - 7pm
EXHIBITION RUN: until 14th August 2021
COVID restrictions apply at Island Darkroom with limited numbers in the space at one time.
