Please join us for a talk from curator and archivist Laura Brown on Tuesday 13th February in room F12.

Laura Brown is the Curator of the Photography collection at the University St Andrews. She is an experienced culture and heritage professional working within museums, historic buildings, and university special collections. She has a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts and a post-graduate certificate in Preservation and Archival Practice. Her previous roles have includes at the American Museum, Bath, at the Footprint Project, Bath Abbey; at the George Eastman Museum and University of Rochester. The University of St Andrews has been collecting photography since 1844. The University Library now holds about a million photographs, which are found in manuscript collections, the archive, rare books and stand-alone photographic collections. The collection includes negatives on glass and film of varying sizes, lantern slides, prints ranging from salt paper to modern processes, as well as postcards and transparencies.

Our line up this semester includes award winning international artists, commercial photographers, archive curators and Napier alumni. Hear from them all on Tuesday afternoons at Edinburgh Napier, Merchiston Campus room F12. All are welcome.
