Save It For A Rainy Day

Set between tower blocks and newly built houses are the Gorbals, which became famous as being one of the highest populated areas in Europe around the beginning of the 20th century as well as being one of the poorest, with many migrants from Italy and Ireland. This is Zinn’s encounter with the place and people and is an intimate portrait and story of the resilience of people in the Gorbals.

This work is the outcome of an exchange residency in 2018 between Street Level and Ostkreuz Association, supported by Festival 2018, and Goethe Institute, Glasgow.

Doro Zinn (born 1987) grew up in Munich, Germany. She received a BA Political Sciences and a BSc Psychology in Vienna. In 2017 she graduated in Photography at Ostkreuzschule fur Fotografie in Berlin. Her work, mostly dealing with social topics and identity-related issues has been exhibited and awarded internationally, and been printed in different magazines and newspapers. She works as a freelance photographer and photo editor in Berlin and Munich.

A limited run publication will be available and a zine signing will take place during the reception on 6th July.
