Derek Mitchell explores the gaps between locations on his commute to work and around Scotland.

Creating images from the patterns, lights, architecture and people that inhabit those spaces. This exhibit brings together glimpses of our everyday environments that most people rush past, heads full of caffeine and eyes glued to phones.

Since graduating from Glasgow School of Art in 2011 with a degree in Environmental Art, Mitchell returned to photography as a primary creative tool, stating the immediacy of the medium, its ability to fluidly switch from a realist to graphic representation as a completely immersive creative experience, found on the streets around us.
