For our seventh Close Up event we will be joined by photographer Douglas Corrance, as he discusses and shares stories of the images in his recent photo-zines published by Café Royal Books.

Born in 1947, Douglas Corrance was brought up in Inverness and started as a junior photographer on the Highland News at the age of 15, since then he has worked in tourism, corporate and press photography. He has been the sole photographic contributor in numerous books, including guides to Japan, Paris, France, India and New York, with his work published and exhibited internationally.

He has also produced portraits of Scottish cities and regions, including his publications on Edinburgh, Glasgow and the book, Scotland: Five Decades of Photographs by Douglas Corrance. He has received many national awards, including the Bill Heron trophy for his outstanding contribution to Scottish tourism.

This talk coincides with the publication of Glasgow 1970s - 1980s and the soon to be published Scotland 1960s - 1980s.
