BORDERS: FLOW Photofest Open Competition

Selected images from the FLOW Photofest 2019 open competition. Acknowledging that our political and personal boundaries are shifting in rapid and unpredictable ways – and how the medium of photography is evolving as both art and document – this year’s open competition welcomed entries which interpreted the theme of BORDERS in its widest sense. The selection panel reviewed a very high standard of work that documented or questioned areas such as territory, geography, politics, foreignness, sexuality, race, psychology and health. •1 winning image will be selected to receive a grand prize of £500 •1 photographer will be selected to exhibit on the FLOW Photofest Wall in 2020 •1 photographer will be commissioned for FLOW Photofest 2021 The winners will be announced at the Festival opening on September 6th.
