Craigmillar Now is delighted to present A Magic Lantern, a powerful and sensitive photography exhibition from Niddrie photographer and former community worker Lee McCormack. Lee’s personal, joyful images capture pioneering art and community projects across Scotland between the late 1970s to the early 2000s. McCormack trained with the Film Workshop Trust and went on to work for Craigmillar Festival Society, Magic Lantern Van, Womenzone and Women’s Aid, engaging with diverse groups across Scotland.
Five series’ of work are presented in the exhibition: Pilton Gala Day (commissioned by Film Workshop Trust), Blind children visit a farm with volunteers from the Environmental Resource Centre, Magic Lantern Van, WomenZone and personal photographs taken by Lee
