The Scotland Now! Phone Portrait Awards is a free to enter competition for portraits taken on a phone by anyone over 16 who lives in Scotland, of someone who lives in Scotland
We seek works that reflect the diversity of personality, lifestyle and experience across Scotland today. We want portraits that show our pride, joys, challenges, our varied environments and families, our extraordinary stories, our everyday lives.
By focusing on very recent portraits taken since 1 January 2025, and images from across the country, the rolling digital exhibition of the top sixty images, screened at the National Galleries of Scotland, Portrait, aims to create a virtual portrait of Scotland Now!
The person in the portrait must be known to you. You must have their permission to submit their portrait to the competition. Selfies are accepted and portraits with animals are accepted but only if the human figure is the main subject.
The portrait may be of one or more people. All images submitted to the Scotland Now! competition must be suitable for viewing by all age groups.
