These Are Our Neighbours - Kenmure Street

“These are our Neighbours” is a photography exhibition remembering when the people of Pollokshields stood their ground against both the Police & the UK Home Office - and won.

Five years on from the events of Kenmure Street, this exhibition features photos taken by Alasdair Watson from within the crowd during the eight hour stand-off, and looks back on the direct action and solidarity with which the community succeeded in freeing two men detained in an immigration dawn raid, setting an example remembered around the world.

The opening evening will be raising donations for local community projects and include poetry readings, a performance from the Red & Black song Club, and the launch of a limited print-run of photo books featuring many previously unpublished photos from Kenmure Street 13th May 2021.

Open Saturday 9th May 10am-4pm, and Sunday 10th May 11am-5pm
