Charles Piazzi Smyth

Born in Italy, Charles Piazzi Smyth would eventually be appointed as Astronomer Royal for Scotland in 1846. His work led to the first published book to be illustrated with stereographs, ‘Teneriffe, an astronomers experiment’.
