At the heart of the exhibition is the Govanhill in One Day project, created by the Govanhill Photography Group. Inspired by community archives and photography projects, we set out to capture the essence of an ordinary autumn day in Govanhill – from the stillness before the first light of dawn to the quiet of the darkened night.

These images offer an authentic, unfiltered glimpse into daily life of people in the neighbourhood, showcasing its ever-evolving landscape.

Seventeen photographers, each with their own unique background and experience, were given a single roll of film and just one hour to shoot, capturing the neighbourhood’s atmosphere in its raw, unfiltered moments. No digital images – just the timeless quality of film.

Beyond photography, the exhibition also features a series of short films made by local people spotlighting local people and places, providing deeper insights into the community's stories. An interactive map invites visitors to share their own memories and experiences, to help weave a rich cultural tapestry of local stories.
