Milestones to Moments - Various Artists
This powerful exhibition shines a light on key milestones in the lives of new Scots, celebrating everyday moments that many of us often take for granted. Featuring striking photographs captured both by New Scots living in Stirling and Clackmannanshire and by volunteers from the Stirling Photography Festival who work with refugees, the exhibition offers a moving glimpse into the journeys and experiences of people building new lives in Scotland.
The original exhibition " Home" was commissioned as part of the Stirling Photography Festival's 2024 Roots and Rituals programme. Generously sponsored by The Robertson Trust, workshops with new Scots created works which were exhibited at The Barracks Conference Centre from September 2024 until March 2025.
Since then and in collaboration with Forth Valley Welcome, central Scotlands refugee resettlement charity, photographer and festival volunteer Jade Scott has run further workshops involving more new Scots in generating new stories. We are delighted that this growing collection now travels to Stirling's Tolbooth Gallery, and will form a key element of this year's Refugee Week events to be held there in June.
Thank you on behalf of Forth Valley Welcome and the Stirling Photography Festival to the Tolbooth and to The Barracks for creating an opportunity and a space for new Scots to explore creative approaches to their resettlement journey .
