Eyes As Big As Plates

Island Darkroom is delighted to announce that we are exhibiting the internationally renowned portraiture project by Riitta Ikonen and Karoline Hjorth, 'Eyes as Big as Plates'.
It is a privilege to be showing this esteemed work at Island Darkroom, and especially exciting as we will be joined by Riitta herself for this event, who is here all the way from New York.

The collaborative project ‘Eyes as Big as Plates’, with Karoline Hjorth advocates for interdisciplinary collaboration for actionable change and this exhibition at Island Darkroom presents some of the portraits shot on the Isle of Lewis in 2019. The Hebridean portraits can be found in the duo’s second book while duo is working on a third book.
