We are hosting an exhibition dedicated to the pioneering work of David Octavius Hill and Robert Adamson, whose images of the fishing communities of Newhaven stand among the earliest and most powerful examples of social documentary photography.

The exhibition hosts a selection of images printed by James Craig Annan and Jessie Bertram in the early 20th century, as well as newly printed artworks. This selection offers an opportunity for visitors to view the lives and faces of the Newhaven fishing community, alongside the release of Sara Stevenson's new book The Fisherwomen and Men of the Firth of Forth.

New prints will be available for sale individually, or in a box set, signed by Sara Stevenson, world-leading authority on Hill & Adamson's work. Please contact the gallery for more info at info@studiesinphotography.com
