Francis Dosoo in collaboration with photographer Kamilya Kuspanova creates a new triptych of photographic work accompanied by text titled, What is behind the Saint’s eyes, when they look through tears to the altar?.

Inspired by representations of sainthood and celebrity, the work centres around three self portraits individually titled, The Mute, The Martyr and The Baptism accompanied by a series of lush pastoral scenes which, altogether, map the character on their journey towards divinity. Dosoo has described the work as exploring emotional and physical indulgence as a form of praxis, and the intimate texts as being akin to a 3am twitter outpouring.

How do we archive the self? Where do we locate emotion? Dosoo invites us to investigate the divine within all of us through our relationship with our recorded selves.
