Bertrand Carrière, artist in residence at Street Level Photoworks, will give an artist talk, presenting his work and his current project. He is keen to meet other artists and photographers at his talk.

The talk will center around some of his book projects which explore two main aspects. One being the relation between place and history through landscape work. The other aspect is intimacy and his relation to home and the everyday.

Finally, the talk will address the Lightwaves residency project he is presently working on. He is the last of four participants in an exchange program between Vu in Québec City and Street Level Photoworks in Glasgow. The exhibition of all four participants works is to be presented at Street Level starting September 22nd.

Bertrand Carrière is a photographer and video artist who actively exhibits and publishes his work across Canada and in Europe. Using time, memory and landscapes, he explores stories that are bound to the land, traces of which persist to this day. In other projects, he seaches for the small, marginal moments, détails that mark his way, his family life, his travels, be they dark or luminous.
