An exhibition from the Centre for Remote Environments' photographic archive. Through the eyes of scientific observers in the first half of the 20th century, the photographs reveal the changing environmental conditions of South Georgia alongside the shifting patterns of human interaction with the island and its resources. The photographs are set in context with new works, nuancing human stewardship of South Georgia and the Antarctic.
