mote is delighted to be exhibiting new work by Jane Brettle www.janebrettle.com. ‘mine’ documents several years’ exploration of abandoned mining sites in East Lothian (coal) and Cornwall (tin). Played simultaneously and linked by a newly composed soundtrack by Robin Mason, the films view these once ravaged, now regenerating, post-industrial landscapes with reference to their histories and future. Jane is also showing new photographs from her series ‘Verging 1, 2 & 3’, and the most recent ‘Ambit’.
