Leave the Dishes, Poke the Jelly is an exhibition of new photographs and writing inspired by the life and legacy of the artist Lee Miller, focusing on her final creative output as a gourmet cook.

Using elements of Lee’s biography and recipes as catalysts to think about the idea of lineage within the history of photography, the images display the inevitable slippages between re-making a photograph or a recipe and the resulting new image or dish.

Morwenna Kearsley is a Glasgow-based artist working with and thinking about lens-based media and its effects on ways of seeing and being. Often through photographs, videos and writing, she considers this question: how are we changed by the images we consume?

Leave the Dishes, Poke the Jelly is part of the Intermedia programme. To facilitate social distancing, Intermedia exhibitions are currently being installed in our main gallery spaces on the ground floor.
