This exhibition displays for the first time in Scotland the complete body of work by American artist Hal Fischer.

Fischer documented the gay culture of San Francisco in the later 1970s with his seminal work Gay Semiotics, which explores the visual language that was unique to gay culture of the time. The exhibition also features the works Boy-friends and 18th Near Castro St.

Gay Semiotics was acquired with support from Art Fund.
