Mahmoud al Khurd is one of the most creative spirits in Palestinian photography today. His unique vision has already won him the prestigious Karimah Abboud Photography Award, and he has recently completed a Fulbright Scholarship studying photography in the United States.

A Palestinian refugee, living and working in Gaza, Mahmoud obtained a degree in Arts and Humanities from Al Azhar University, before developing his practice as a conceptual photographer. His work has already been shown in Europe and America to great acclaim,  His very personal interpretation of the life of the artist in the besieged enclave that is Gaza today can be seen at the JUST Festival in the gardens of St. John's Church, 1, Princes St. Edinburgh over the next three weeks.
