Since October 2022, North Lanarkshire Arts have been involved in a project which has focused on the former Lanarkshire steelworks site, Ravenscraig. This project engaged three artists, who all hail from North Lanarkshire:

Dr Amanda Thomson
Frank McElhinney
Hamshya Rajkumar
to respond creatively to the Ravenscraig site in terms of climate change. The result created Scotland’s contribution to the 18th Architectural Venice Biennale, 2023. A return of the exhibition is taking place at the North Lanarkshire Heritage Centre from 7 September to 28 October 2024.

As part of the Lanarkshire Climate Action Festival, you are invited to join the exhibition curators, Architecture Fringe and the exhibition artists for an evening to enjoy an informal walk and talk of Ravenscraig - A Fragile Correspondence exhibition accompanied with refreshments.

This is an opportunity for anyone who has an interest in the future sustainability of the Ravenscraig site.
