In this special In Conversation event, Arpita will be joined by Anne Lyden, Chief Curator of Photography at National Galleries of Scotland, for a discussion on Arpita’s practice and development, and the themes and approaches within ‘Nalini’ - a series of work focusing on her mother, her grandmother and herself. It explores the intimacy between the three of them and how - across time and geographies - their histories, memories and physical bodies are entangled and connected to one another.
Anne is Chief Curator of Photography at National Galleries of Scotland where she is responsible for a collection of almost 50,000 photographs. Prior to joining NGS in 2013, Anne was associate curator of photographs at the J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles.
