Selected Artists’ Works and SWG3 are delighted to present a collection of works from Copenhagen-based artist Mads Holm [b.1990].

For his first solo show in Glasgow, Holm will be presenting works from his expanding series About Common Ground.

About Common Ground is an experiment in constant photographic investigation of states and movements in global society. Particularly attentive to urban spaces as centres for capitalist politics, Holm tries to encompass what seems ungraspable about a world connected by advanced capitalism while divided by national boarders.

The first showing of this series was at The Royal Danish Embassy in London (March 2016) and, subsequently, as part of as both a group show at 16 Nicholson Street Glasgow and solo show at the Fotografisk Center in Copenhagen later that year.

Winner of the Jill Todd Photographic Award (2016) and RSA Adam Bruce Thomson Award (2017), Holm has exhibited extensively across the UK and Denmark. This has included exhibitions at The Royal Scottish Academy Edinburgh, Banja Rathnov Gallery Copenhagen, and Nerve Centre Londonderry. Most recently Holm has exhibited at Supernormal Art Space Singapore and Soiz Gallery Germany, with an exhibition at Carlsberg Byens Galleri & Kunstsalon, Copenhagen in December 2018.
