Stills is delighted to announce a new Creative Exchange programme between Orkney and Edinburgh, sponsored by Highland Park single malt Scotch Whisky.

Artists based in Edinburgh and Orkney are invited to apply. An artist from each location will be selected and supported through a programme comprising a 7 day residency in Orkney followed by 7 days residency in Edinburgh, plus 14 days independent research and development. In Edinburgh, artists will have free access to Stills’ facilities, including dark rooms and digital labs.

Artists will receive:

– £2000 Artist Fee
– £500 Materials Fee

– Support from Rebecca Marr on Orkney and Stills’ team in Edinburgh

This is a research residency inspired by Stills’ current exhibition of photography and films by Orcadian artists Gunnie Moberg and Margaret Tait. Research made while on Orkney will be shared with Stills’ and Highland Park’s audiences.

We are particularly interested to hear from artists who use film and/or photography in their practice.

To apply, please send an artist CV, up to 8 images of your work and/or a link to your work online and 500 words on why you would like to participate on this residency.

Send submissions to: rachael.cloughton@stills.org

Deadline: Friday 24th August, 5pm. Interviews scheduled for the w/c 27th August (Skype interviews will be arranged for artists based in Orkney).

Artists must be over 18 to apply.
