On Saturday 29th of October, Redeye’s Hothouse arrives in Newcastle upon Tyne for a free, daylong celebration of photography. It’s a showcase of new talent and a hive of photographic activity and information.
What is Hothouse?
Hothouse is an event with short presentations from photographers about their recent work and projects. If you have a project or body of work you would like to talk about, whether it’s complete or a work in progress, we would love to hear from you. In addition to the presentations, there will also be the opportunity to bring and look through photographic portfolios, and photography books.

Applications for presentations
We are seeking photographers who can give short, ten-minute presentations about their work. These can either be a single project, series or connected body of work, and the slots are open to photographers from all fields – fine art, photojournalism, landscape, portrait, documentary, social, commercial, experimental – anything!
If you are interested in presenting your work then please send through an application PDF including the following:
- Your name
- up to 12 jpeg images from the work you want to present on the day (no bigger than 5MB in total)
- a few sentences about yourself and your work (no more than 200 words)
- links to your social medias and/or website link

We aim to include as many presentations as we can, and will let you know if you have been successful by the 7th October 2022.
