World-renowned photographer Thomas Joshua Cooper and writer Catherine Mooney sit down with contributor and Director General of the National Galleries of Scotland, Anne Lyden, to discuss Desire Lines: A Year of Celtic Saints, their stunning new photography book.

Desire Lines is a mesmerising exploration of faith, history, and place, where the landscapes of Scotland, Ireland and England become a canvas for the spiritual journeys of early Celtic saints. Inspired by ancient stories and traditions, Cooper and Mooney retrace the paths of these pioneers, visiting their birthplaces, sites of devotion, and places of passing. The result is a profoundly moving collection of 79 black-and-white photographs accompanied by insightful historical and artistic context.

The book includes a foreword from Lyden, as well as an engaging discussion between Thomas, Catherine, and Anne. With its breath-taking imagery and rich historical insights, Desire Lines is both a visual masterpiece and a deeply reflective meditation on movement and the power of place.
